Dynamic parameter setting (using xml-input)

Adjust parameters for each single sentence use xml-input “option” tag to change on the fly decoding parameters (for the whole sentence, not yet for a chunk containing several words) Example: <option dl=”3” />VERY LONG SENTENCE => the distortion limit will be set to 3 instead of the default for this specific sentence Usage: we could set faster decoding parameter for long sentences, or the user could ask for a more verbose translation of a specific sentence, etc. 2.2 Possibility to use patterns in “translation” xml tag Possibility to use regular expressions (or simple wildcar) to boost translation alternatives obtained externally from a dictionary, a user input... (e.g using stemming) Example: suppose the user specifies that in this context “river” translates to “fleuve” in French (“fleuve” is a river going in the sea, otherwise it’s a “riviere”). When the word is in the plural form the “translation” xml-tag cannot apply: Rhine and Thames are <n translation=”fleuve”>rivers</n>  « Le Rhin et la Tamise sont des fleuve » (it should be « fleuves » here) The proposal would be to specify translations as patterns: Rhine and Thames are <n translation=”fleuv*”>rivers</n>  « Le Rhin et la Tamise sont des fleuves » (supposing that « fleuves » is part of n-best-list)
